Pretoria - An Israeli fugitive wanted for murder has been arrested at Montecasino in Johannesburg.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) Interpol Extradition Task Team arrested Shay Moslie, who is wanted by Israeli authorities on charges of murder and attempted murder allegedly committed in 2012.

“He had been evading Israeli authorities since he allegedly committed the crimes in 2012, then later fled to South Africa. The Israel authorities had requested the assistance of the SAPS in June this year,” police spokesperson Brigadier Vish Naidoo said.

The suspect made his first appearance in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for an extradition hearing.

The hearing was postponed and Moslie will remain in custody. - SAnews.gov.za
