Gauteng holds special sitting to debate attacks

Tuesday, April 28, 2015

Pretoria - The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) will this morning convene a special sitting to debate the recent spate of violence against foreign nationals in the province.

This follows last week’s peace march where the legislature, alongside other sectors and Premier David Makhura, joined in to show a united front against attacks aimed at foreign nationals.

Expected to attend the special sitting are diplomats, high commissioners and ambassadors from all African countries represented in Gauteng.

“The debate is intended to unpack the incongruities emanating from these acts and other related incidents,” said the GPL. – SAnews.gov.za
