Mangaung - Free State Premier, Ace Magashule, is to participate in a debate at the Youth Parliament as part of the 34th Youth Day celebrations today in Bloemfontein.
Under the topic, "Nationalisation of mines" Magashule will be accompanied by his Executive Council at Vista University where the debate will take place. An estimated 1 000 eager youths from across the province will be part of the debate that will serve as a platform to voice their views.
According to the Premier's office, this June 16 commemoration is one way the provincial government aims to afford the youth an opportunity to celebrate all the achievements of the youth since the dawn of a new era and reflect on the challenges youth face currently.
Such initiatives by the provincial government enable the youth to continue to participate in the implementation of programmes that are aimed at developing the youth, particularly the National Youth Service.
This debate forms part of many discussions and celebrations happening across the country on the backdrop of the anniversary of the uprising of June 16
