Former rugby player arrested for murders

Pretoria - KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested man, reported to be a former Blue Bulls rugby player, in connection with the murder of three people in that province.

The 34-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after a task team set up to investigate the murders received a tip off.

One of the murdered men had been decapitated while two others were found hacked to death. A fourth man was also attacked with an axe but managed to escape unharmed.

Police apparently found an axe, which is believed to be the murder weapon, and blood stained clothes when the arrested the suspect.

The man is expected to appear in court this week.
