Former President Mandela in hospital

Pretoria – Former President Nelson Mandela was admitted to hospital in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon for a scheduled medical check-up to manage existing conditions in line with his age, the Presidency said.

The Presidency has appealed to the public to give former President Nelson Mandela and his family privacy, during the period he is in the hospital.

 “Doctors are conducting tests and have thus far indicated that there is no reason for any alarm. We appeal for privacy for Madiba and his family,” the Presidency said. – SAnews.gov.za
