Eight injured in mall explosion

Pretoria - Eight people were injured in an explosion at Festival Mall in Kempton Park on Thursday, police have confirmed.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou said while details were still sketchy, the explosion took place in a restaurant.

"The cause of the explosion is unknown at this stage. Police and the bomb disposal unit are at the scene investigating," he said.

The injured have been taken to hospital.
