Pretoria - Durban will roll out the red carpet at a parade today to welcome delegates arriving ahead of next week's historic climate change conference.
The welcome parade is expected to showcase the city and the country's state of readiness to host COP17 from 28 November to 9 December 2011.
Government leaders will join thousands of local residents and personalities for the welcome extravaganza, which will be in the form of a street march.
The march will commence from Julius Nyerere (Warwick), through Pixley Ka Isaka Seme (West Street), ending with formal proceedings in the City Hall.
A carnival of climate friendly innovations will form part of the green street walk parade.
