Dlamini Zuma to launch service delivery monitoring forum

Pretoria - Home Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will on Monday unveil a joint Home Affairs-Lusikisiki Community Forum, to monitor the quality of service delivery to the community.

This will be the second such monitoring forum in the country, after the department launched one in uMzimkhulu in KwaZulu-Natal earlier this year.

The forum will consist of several government officials and members of the community including local chiefs, religious leaders and councillors.

Dlamini Zuma's launch of the joint Home Affairs-Lusikisiki Community Forum take place within the context of the overall government effort to involve communities in the process of governance under the theme "Together we can do more".

In a statement, the department said Dlamini Zuma was steadfast in her conviction that only through the involvement of local stakeholders in the process of governance they can improve upon service delivery levels within the department.

During her visit to Lusikisiki, Dlamini Zuma is expected to use the opportunity to inspect facilities in the Lusikisiki Home Affairs offices, visit the local Palmerton High School to interact with victims of forced marriages.
