Deputy President David Mabuza will this afternoon appear before the National Assembly for his maiden oral reply session.

This will be the first time the Deputy President responds to questions in the National Assembly since his appointment to the position of Deputy President.

The Deputy President, who is also the leader of government business, will amongst others, brief the nation on government’s strategy to radically transform the economy, improve social cohesion and nation building, working with all social partners.

He will also brief members of Parliament on interventions to deal with violence against women and children and on plans to ensure women actively participate in the mainstream economy.

Deputy President Mabuza chairs the Human Resource Development Council of South Africa (HRDCSA), a multi-stakeholder body that creates an enabling, coordinated and integrated environment to focus on improving the human resource development base and skills of the South African people.

As such he will have an opportunity to outline the synergy between fee-free quality education and the country’s Human Resource development strategy, the Presidency said.
