Pretoria - Four Zimbabwean nationals, who were found in possession of copper cables worth millions of rand at a plot in Randjiesfontein, Midrand, are set to appear in court on Wednesday.

The four were arrested by the Hawks on Monday while stripping cables.

The branding on the copper revealed that the metal was stolen from the Johannesburg City Power, according to Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.

“Also found during the raid were suspected fraudulent invoices which were issued on the letter head of the Johannesburg City Power.

“The quartet allegedly duped their clients into believing that they were sub-contracted by City Power to sell the copper,” said Brigadier Mulaudzi.

The suspects, twin brothers and two accomplices, aged between 26 and 35 are facing charges of possession of stolen copper cables. - SAnews.gov.za
