Condolences for UAE following plane crash

South Africa has sent its condolences to the people of United Arab Emirates (UAE) following a helicopter crash that claimed the lives of four people in the North-Eastern region of the country.

“The government and people of South Africa wish to extend its sincere condolences to the Government and people of the UAE following a helicopter crash in Ras al-Khaimah in the North-Eastern region of the country,” said the Department of International Relations and Cooperation on Sunday.

The crash killed four crew members including South African paramedic Mark Roxburgh, who were on a search and rescue mission.

“The South African Government sends its sincere condolences to UAE’s National Search and Rescue Centre, the crew's families and in particular to the family, friends and colleagues of Mr Mark Roxburgh.”

The South African Consulate in Dubai is currently providing consular assistance to the family Roxburgh. - SAnews.gov.za
