Chairperson of Electoral Court appointed

Pretoria - The Honourable Justice Jeremiah Buti Zwelibanzi Shongwe has been appointed as Chairperson of the Electoral Court.

President Jacob Zuma appointed Justice Shongwe in terms of section 19(1)(a) read with section 19(2) of the Electoral Commission Act, 1996.

The appointment is for a period of five years, with effect from 1 May 2014.

“We wish Justice Shongwe all of the best in the execution of this important judicial task,” said President Zuma.
