Call to join the #100MenMarch

Wednesday, July 4, 2018

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church in South Africa (EPCSA) Men’s Guild has called on all organisations to demonstrate their resolve to ending violence against women and children by joining the #100MenMarch.

“The scourge of violence against women and children is a huge threat to our development as a nation. On average, one in five South African women older than 18 has experienced physical violence,” EPCSA Men’s Guild said in a statement on Tuesday.

The #100MenMarch is part of the centenary celebrations of former President Nelson Mandela and struggle stalwart Mama Albertina Sisulu who both committed their lives to the fight for the human rights particularly women and children.

The march celebrates their lives but also seeks to raise awareness on the scourge of violence against women and children.

“In marching together with business organisations, civil society groupings and government we are demonstrating a united resolve to fight the scourge of violence against women and children,” the EPCSA Men’s Guild said.

The march will be held on 10 July 2018. It will begin at Church Square in Tshwane at 10am and make its way to the southern lawns of the Union Buildings. – SAnews.gov.za
