Pretoria - Cabinet has welcomed the move by most unions representing public servants to sign government's revised wage offer.
Following its meeting on Wednesday, Cabinet said it was relieved the unions, with the exception the South African Democratic Teachers Union, had signed the offer.
"Cabinet would like to commend all the unions that have signed and is pleased that this matter has now been resolved and government can now focus on the delivery of services to all South Africans," said Deputy CEO of Government Communication and Information System Vusi Mona on Thursday.
The wage settlement offer provides for a salary increase of 7.5 percent and a housing allowance of R800 per month with effect from 1 July 2010.
