Polokwane - Impoverished students living around Polokwane, Limpopo, have three weeks to apply for bursaries from the local municipality.

Polokwane municipal spokesperson Noko Lebea said the bursaries will enable successful applicants to study for a diploma or degree at a recognised university, technikon or technical college.

"Preference will be given to applicants wishing to study financial management, water and sanitation, electrical engineering and civil engineering, or any field of study that is identified as critical or scarce skills within commerce, business and government sectors around Polokwane," said Lebea on Monday.
