Rustenburg - The North West Department of Economic Development and Tourism has launched the Business Directory aimed at propelling small businesses into local and international markets.
The directory will give entrepreneurs instant access to the latest business information from their and abroad.
There are currently 750 businesses already registered on the directory said project manager, Mika Moerat.
Business owner, Charlie Moagi, said the launch came at the right time. "It came at an opportune time; 2010 is here. This will really help us in terms of economic growth," he said.
Chief Director at the Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Mercy Tumane,was optimistic that the project would open doors for local traders.
"It is my belief that through such an initiative, the business landscape of our province will be put on the local and international arena.
"We will be in a position to showcase our capabilities through the use of technology, as is the normal practice, given the global nature of the markets we are now operating in," she said.
