Be an AU youth volunteer

Wednesday, July 12, 2017

Pretoria - The African Union has opened this year’s process of recruiting Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC) from all its member states across the continent.

The AU-YVC, established in 2010, is a continental development programme that recruits and works with youth volunteers from the African continent.

The programme aims to enhance the status of young people as key actors in Africa's development targets and goals. AU-YVC also aims to deepen youth participation in policy development. It wants young people to get involved in the design and implementation of interventions that will help to realise the AU vision dubbed ‘The Africa we want’.

It brings people together to share skills, knowledge, creativity and learning to build a more integrated Continent and by default, strengthen Africa's relevance in the globalised world.

AU Youth Volunteers would serve primarily the education, health and HIV/ Aids, peace and security, information and communications technology, business and youth entrepreneurship, agriculture and environment sectors.
