Bafana off to Sao Paulo

Pretoria - Bafana Bafana are headed for their second base camp in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where they are scheduled to play three more warm-up matches.

The South African squad has been in South America for the past two weeks in preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup which starts on June 11.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup hosts, who have played six warm up matches, have recorded four wins, two draws, 13 goals and have not conceded any goals.

Former Bafana coach, Joel Santana's team, Botafogo, was defeated by Bafana recently in Rio de Janeiro.

Kaizer Chiefs winger, Siphiwe Tshabalala scored the only goal to give Bafana victory.On Thursday, Carlos Parreira's squad will demonstrate their skills against Desportivo Brazil before locking horns with Palmeiras on Saturday. Both matches kick-off at 3:30 Brazilian time.

Bafana will travel to Asuncion next week to compete against Paraguay. The match will kick-off on Wednesday at 7:30 Paraguayan time.

Meanwhile, Maritzburg United goalkeeper, Shu-aib Walters, has been called as a replacement for the injured Emille Baron.

The Supersport United goalkeeper had to return home from the Brazilian camp due a shoulder injury.

Walters is expected to arrive in the Brazilian camp in the next few days. Currently at the base camp are two goalkeepers, Moeneeb Josephs and Itumeleng Khune.
