Air force chief not on suspension

The South African Air Force Chief is not on suspension, the South African National Defence Force said on Wednesday.

“The Chief of the South African Air Force, Lieutenant General Fabian Zimpande Msimang, is not on suspension. The SANDF has no knowledge of the investigations alleged in the article.”

The department was responding to media reports that Msimang was suspended with no comment from the South African National Defence Force.

SANDF said this report is poorly researched and a speculative article that seeks to set an agenda on hearsay.

“The article quoted faceless sources who are not even members of the SANDF neither do they speak on behalf of the SANDF.” – SAnews.gov.za
