Africa not separated from world affairs - Obama

Pretoria - According to United States President Barack Obama, Africa is not separate from the world affairs.

President Obama made the remarks when meeting his Ghanaian counterpart John Atta Mills on Saturday in Accra, capital of Ghana.

The US president said after visiting Russia and attending the just concluded G-8 summit in Italy, he came to visit this west African nation to emphasise that Africa is not separate from the world affairs.

In his meeting with Ghanaian President Mills, the US president spoke highly of the west African nation for its successful and peaceful presidential elections in December 2008 and the stability and prosperity the country has enjoyed.

President Obama said Ghana could be an extraordinary model for success throughout the African continent.
