Pretoria - Home Affairs Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma will today depart for Mexico City, where she is expected to address the Socialist International Meeting on Climate Change.
The meeting, which comes ahead of the 17th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP17) in Cancun, is expected to deliberate on a social democratic perspective on climate change, with a view to building a better future for a sustainable world.
The two-day meeting, which opens on Friday, will be held under the theme, "The urgent need for a meaningful agreement at the 16th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP16)."
Minister Dlamini Zuma will attend the meeting within the context of South Africa's commitment to strengthen relations with other like-minded political formations around the globe, with the hope to achieve a just and sustainable system of global political and economic governance.
