Pretoria – The Executive Council in Limpopo has commended the Inter-Ministerial Committee for the good work done in ensuring that there is calm and stability in the province.
Addressing the media during a post Executive Council briefing on Thursday, Limpopo Premier Stanley Mathabatha said the refurbishment and rehabilitation of damaged schools in the Vuwani area is estimated at over R300 million. The disaster management team is completing the necessary documentation.
He called upon all affected to give the mediation process a chance.
“The Executive Council has raised concerns about the time cost to both learners and teachers, and is appealing to both stakeholders to allow young ones to go to school and teachers to be available to protect the academic year and the future of the learners,” said Premier Mathabatha.
The ministerial team includes the Ministers of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Des van Rooyen; State Security, David Mahlobo; Communications, Faith Muthambi and the Deputy Minister of Police, Maggie Sotyu supported by the Basic Education Angie Motshekga. The team is also working with the Premier of Limpopo and MECs, as well as leadership of the Vhembe District Municipality. – SAnews.gov.za
