Pretoria - All eyes will be on the Bloemfontein Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) this morning, which is scheduled to hear an application by the National Prosecuting Authority that challenges Oscar Pistorius's culpable homicide conviction.
The former Paralympian was placed under correctional supervision at home as from 20 October 2015.
This after serving a fifth of his prison term for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
He will face more years in jail if State lawyers can get his conviction scaled up from culpable homicide to murder.
Prosecutors will argue before the SCA judges, who are known to question council throughout their arguments, that High Court Judge Thokozile Masipa was wrong to let Pistorius off the more serious charge after he fired four shots through a locked door on Valentine's Day 2013.
The full bench of five judges has had several months to consider the State and defence’s cases, which were first submitted in writing.
Proceedings are scheduled to start at 10am and will finish today, even if that means sitting into the night. – SAnews.gov.za
