Power system stable

Pretoria - The power system is stable with no load shedding currently taking place, said Eskom on Friday.

“In the past 40 days, we have had only 2 hours and 20 minutes of load shedding. And, since it was stage 1 load shedding, this meant that 96% of South Africans still received uninterrupted electricity supply,” said the power utility.

Earlier, Eskom warned that the power system would be especially tight until Sunday, 20 September 2015.

“We continue to urge customers to use energy efficiently at all times, especially air conditioners, geysers and pool pumps as they do use a lot of electricity,” said Eskom. - SAnews.gov.za
