Pretoria - The Presidential Remuneration Review Commission (PRRC) has extended the deadline for written submissions from all stakeholders in all government departments and in public entities to 31 August 2015.
The initial deadline was set for 30 June 2015 for receipt of submissions from the education sector, and 31 July 2015 for the rest of the public service sector and the public entities.
The commission said it had been inundated with requests for the deadline to be extended in order to accommodate parties whose submissions have not yet been received.
“In this regard, the commission today announced that it was granting a blanket extension for all submissions to be handed in by 31 August 2015,” it said.
The commission, which is headed by former Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo, was appointed by President Jacob Zuma to inquire into remuneration and conditions of service in the public service and public entities, as listed in Schedules 3A and 3C of the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 with educators receiving priority.
In accordance with its terms of reference, the commission is required to investigate matters such as the delivery of basic education, recruitment, promotion and retention of educators, performance management, job evaluation, grading and fiscal sustainability of the wage bill.
Submissions to the commission must be detailed and comprehensive and any views or opinions expressed should be substantiated as far as possible with verifiable facts and data.
Submissions may be hand-written or typed and must be sent via email, post or hand delivery to the commission’s Lynnwood office, on the 6th Floor, SITA Building, Perseus Park, 117 Priory Road, Lynnwood in Pretoria. - SAnews.gov.za
