No load shedding expected today

Pretoria - Due to adequate generating capacity to meet the electricity demand, no load shedding is expected today, Eskom said on Thursday.

While there is enough generating capacity, Eskom called on all customers to continue to use electricity sparingly at all times to enable the technicians to carry out the requisite maintenance of the utility’s power generating units.

Commercial customers, particularly shopping centres and office blocks, can also make a big difference by switching off non-essential lights and not leaving office equipment such photocopiers and computers in standby mode after hours.

“As the evening temperatures begin to drop, we urge electricity users to consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm. This is particularly important over the next few days as the weather is expected to be quite cold,” said Eskom. - SAnews.gov.za
