SA, Sweden to strengthen relations

Pretoria – South Africa and Sweden are set to strengthen bilateral relations when Home Affairs Minister Naledi Pandor travels to Stockholm to meet with her Swedish counterpart.

Swedish Minister for Migration and Asylum, Tobias Billstrom, will meet with Minister Pandor on Wednesday.

It will be for the second time that the two ministers will meet to discuss issues of mutual interest between their respective countries.

The first meeting was held in Pretoria on 28 August 2013, in which Minister Billstrom invited Minister Pandor to visit Sweden for further discussions as well as to share South Africa’s experiences in dealing with some of the challenging areas of immigration.

Minister Pandor will also use the opportunity to visit and have discussions with Swedish Migration Board and other relevant entities.

Minister Pandor is expected to return to South Africa on Thursday morning. – SAnews.gov.za
