Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has conveyed the best wishes of government and all South Africans to Soweto soccer giants Orlando Pirates Football Club, ahead of their crucial first leg final match against Al Ahly of Egypt in the 2013 CAF African Champions League Cup.
“We congratulate Orlando Pirates for having reached the finals of this prestigious CAF African Champions League Cup. This is an important milestone not only for the team, but for soccer and sports in general in our country. We express our strongest support to the team,” said Zuma in a statement on Thursday.
He urged the nation to support them as they fly the South African flag high at Orlando Stadium.
Orlando Pirates will take on Al Ahly on Saturday. – SAnews.gov.za
