Pretoria - Calm has been restored to Olievenhoutbosch, Centurion, following protests in the area early on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Tshisikhawe Ndou said protesters had dispersed and the affected parties were expected to meet to discuss the way forward.

Ndou said there was apparently a dispute between the taxi association and buses operating in the area, which resulted in taxi association members allegedly pulling passengers off the buses on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Community members then retaliated by protesting and blockading a road on Wednesday morning.

No was injured or arrested and community members began dispensing by late morning, Ndou said.
