Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has announced that former President Nelson Mandela will return to his home in Qunu in the Eastern Cape today.

Madiba relocated briefly to his Houghton home recently while the Qunu residence was being refurbished. He has indicated his wish to go back to Qunu at this point. He resides in both residences interchangeably, depending on his wishes at any particular time.

"Madiba is in good health and we constantly assure him of the love, support and good wishes of millions of South Africans and people around the world," said President Zuma.

The Presidency reminded all of the need to respect the privacy of Madiba and his family during the relocation.
