Limpopo refutes cabinet reshuffle rumours

Pretoria - The Limpopo Provincial government has hit back at media reports that four MEC's will be reshuffled or replaced from Premier Cassel Mathale's cabinet.

Provincial government spokesperson, Tebatso Mabitsela, said they have noted reports in the media alleging, without any substance, that the Executive Council (EXCO) is about to be reshuffled.

"Government wishes to put it on record that members of EXCO work collectively to discharge their responsibilities as outlined in the electoral mandate of the current administration.

"Therefore, opinions that disapprove of certain members of EXCO and call for the provincial cabinet reshuffle are misleading," he said.

Sunday papers claimed that MECs for Sports, Arts and Culture Joyce Mashamba, Agriculture Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba, Health and Social Development Miriam Segabutla, Safety and Security MEC Dikeledi Magadzi face the axe.

Mabitsela said the MECs, public representatives in local government and officials in the entire public service remain focused, loyal and committed to provide government services to the people of Limpopo.

Since President Jacob Zuma announced his cabinet reshuffle, Mpumalanga and Gauteng have also reshuffled their provincial cabinets.
