Gauteng Provincial Govt to engage Mamelodi residents

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Pretoria - The residents of Mamelodi will today be given the opportunity to engage with the Gauteng Provincial Government on its programme of action since the new administration took over earlier this year.

Provincial Premier Nomvula Mokonyane and her whole executive council will be meeting the community to discuss top issues including crime prevention activities, school governance measures and drug awareness campaigns in the area.

The meeting, to be held at Stanza Bopape Community Hall, is aimed at strengthening the understanding of issues the community faces.

It is also part of an ongoing process to boost crime prevention measures in Gauteng.

The meeting will be preceded by a drug combating and awareness campaign at Mamelodi and Lethlapile High Schools Mamelodi.
