Pretoria - Mineral Resources Minister Ngoako Ramathlodi is in China promoting the country’s diamond industry to ensure that South Africa remains an attractive investment destination of choice.
“In addition, the country will be showcasing, through the national pavilion launched in 2013, jewellery and gem products by 20 South African entrepreneurs,” the Department of Mineral Resources said.
Minister Ramathlodi is leading a delegation to the Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair which is being held in China.
The fair is a platform for International Jewellery and Gem exhibitors and buyers to trade and network.
“It is also an effective channel to tap into the Asian market, including the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong markets,” the department said.
Minister Ramathlodi is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry, South Africa’s Consul General in Hong Kong and the State Diamond Trader
