He will be accompanied by the Minister in the Presidency, Collins Chabane.

The opening ceremony of Africa's largest football tournament will be followed by the match between Angola and Mali.

The Presidency said the visit would also be used to further strengthen the warm historical relations between South Africa and Angola.

The tournament features the five African teams which will also participate in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The AFCON will culminate in a final match to be played in Luanda on 31 January 2010.

During his state visit to Angola last year, President Zuma indicated South Africa's support and good wishes to Angola on its hosting of the AFCON.
