At least one feared dead as huge blast rocks Nairobi

Nairobi - At least one person is feared dead and several others injured in a huge explosion which took place in Nairobi's central business district on Monday, eye witnesses said.

The huge blast coccurred at 1:15pm local time in a building housing several clothing stalls on Moi Avenue near the Mount Kenya University, flattening exhibition stalls.

The cause of the explosion has not been established but emergency teams have arrived at the scene to rescue persons trapped inside the building and also to rush the injured to hospital.

Fire fighters are busy trying to put out the fire.
