Nigeria to test 2010 strength against Paraguay

Pretoria - The Super Eagles will on March 3 test their strength against Paraguay in London ahead of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

This was confirmed by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Dr Bolaji Ojo-Oba recently.

"There were some hiccups during the early stages of our negotiations, but all matters have been finally resolved and now the match is certainly on," he said.

When the two teams lock horns in a warm-up friendly match ahead of the 2002 Soccer World Cup, they drew 2-2.

This pre-tournament preparatory match on March 3 will be useful to both countries as the day marks 100 days to the kick-off of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

At the Soccer World Cup, Nigeria will play against Paraguay's neighbours, Argentina, Korea Republic and Greece in group B, while Paraguay will play against one of Africa's strongest team's Cameroon, defending champions, Italy, and Japan in group F.

On March 3 African champions, Egypt (the Pharaohs) will play a friendly match against another world cup qualifier, England at Wembley in the UK.
