Western Cape Govt welcomes additional funding allocated to provinces for health, education

The Western Cape Government (WCG) has welcomed the additional funding allocated to provinces for education and health services in the Budget presented by Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana on Wednesday.

Godongwana announced that the provincial education sector’s baseline budget over the 2025 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) will be R1.04 trillion, with an additional R9.5 billion allocated over the medium-term. 

This funding aims to retain teachers in classrooms and hire more staff.

Trade, Industry and Competition launches Next-Gen Exporter Incubation Programme

The Next-Gen Exporter Incubation Programme - aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs with the exporting skills, resources and the support they need to become successful first-time exporters – has been launched by the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition (dtic).

Speaking at the virtual launch, the dtic’s Acting Deputy Director-General of Exports, Willem van der Spuy, described the programme as a high-impact, 12-month intervention targeting youth-led enterprises with demonstrated export potential.

Lesotho Highlands Water Project maintenance work completed
