Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has wished boxing champion Jacob "Baby Jake" Matlala a speedy recovery from his illness.
"With four international titles in his illustrious career as a boxer, Matlala is one of the few South African sports personalities who hoisted this country's flag very high in the world and made the nation proud," said the Presidency.
Zuma wished his family strength during this period so that they can support the boxer to recovery.
The 48-year-old was admitted to a Johannesburg hospital with double pneumonia in October.
