Zuma to wish Banyana well

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma will visit Banyana Banyana at the Makhulong stadium in Tembisa on Sunday ahead of a friendly match against neighbouring Zimbabwe.

The match is a preparatory match for the 2010 CAF African Women Championship.

The President will pledge the nation's support for the 21-women team as well as the South African Football Association as they host the tournament.

The CAF AWC, featuring eight of Africa's premier women's national teams, takes place in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality from 31 October to 14 November , with the two finalists qualifying for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany.

Banyana Banyana will play their Group A matches at the Sinaba stadium. Their opening match is against minnows Tanzania on 31 October at 1pm. They will then lock horns with Africa's powerhouse star's Nigeria on 4 November at 11am and Mali on 7 November at 3.30pm.

The Banyana Banyana squad includes goalkeepers Roxanne Barker, Thoko Mndaweni and Yolula Tsawe, defenders Simphiwe Dludlu, Amanda Sister, Janine van Wyk, Yola Jafta, Nthabeleng Modiko and Simphiwe Masina, midfielders Sana Mollo, Nocawe Skiti, Mary Ntsweng, Elson Matjila, Gabisile Hlumbane, Kylie Ann Louw, Mamello Makhabane and Jermaine Seoposenwe and strikers are Amanda Dlamini, Noko Matlou, Leandra Smeda and Mamphasha Popela.
