Pretoria - Rand West City Local Municipality will implement water restrictions in a number of places, starting this Sunday.
The municipality has issued a schedule listing the restrictions, which will start at 10pm on Sunday.
The areas that will be affected on Sunday are Kloof Drive and the small holdings in West Rand. Waterpan and Wagterskop will be affected on Monday, and Badirile and Waterpan on Tuesday.
Water restrictions will be implemented on Wednesday in Finsbury, Kocksoord, Peacehaven, Aureus, Mohlakeng, Toekomsrus, Westergloor and Oasis Manor.
Restrictions will be implemented on Thursday in Greenhills, Helikon Park, Eike Park, Culemborg Park and Randfontein CBD.
Glenharvie town, Glenharvie mine, Westonaria, Venterpost, Dannydale, Borwa and Simunye will be mostly affected by the restrictions from Monday to Sunday.
The municipality said the restrictions are necessary because the area is high-lying, requiring water to be pumped at night to fill the local reservoir that supplies water to communities. – SAnews.gov.za
