Pretoria - The United States national squad says they are confident of a win in their Group C match against Slovenia, at Ellis Park on Friday.

The team played a thrilling match against England in Rustenburg at the Royal Bafokeng stadium last Saturday. They drew 1-1 after a nail-biting 90 minutes.

The team's Clint Dempsey, who plays on the right wing, told BuaNews the squad was fully prepared to take on the Serbians.

"It's not going to be an easy game; it's going to be a tough one, but we are ready," he said.

"We have to win this game, nothing else," said Midfielder, Jose Torres, adding that the team was fully prepared to do so.

"We are physically and mentally fit."

This is the team's ninth appearance at a World Cup.
