Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has appointed two acting judges for the Constitutional Court, the Presidency announced in a statement.
The President, empowered by Section 175 (1) of the Constitution, has appointed Justice Ray Zondo of the North and South Gauteng High Courts to act as a Judge of the Constitutional Court from 1 November 2011 to 31 May 2012 in the vacancy created by the discharge from active service of Justice Sandile Ngcobo.
"Madame Justice Mandisa Maya of the Supreme Court of Appeal will Act as a Judge of the Constitutional Court from 1 February 2012 to 31 May 2012, standing in for Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke, who will take vacation leave during that period," the statement said.
