The provision of health care will come to the fore today when North West Health MEC, Dr Magome Masike, visits the Moses Kotane sub-district.
Masike is expected to visit Moses Kotane Hospital in Ledig and the rest of the sub-district to assess health services and intervene where challenges are identified.
“A team of administrators is currently in the province assisting the department by intervening where there are blockages to health service delivery. This team is working with the MEC, advising him with intervention plans to be implemented,” said the department ahead of the visit.
The MEC is expected to assess whether the sub-district and hospital is improving in terms of its disease profile, the cure rate for TB and HIV at Moses Kotane Hospital and surrounding area, as well as maternal and infant mortality, among others.
The MEC will also brief media on progress made since the department was placed under Section 100 1(b). The briefing is set to get underway at midday at the hospital’s boardroom. - SAnews.gov.za
