Tuesday, December 5, 2017

The Media Diversity and Development Agency (MDDA) has announced the appointment of Advocate Musa Sishange as the acting chairperson of its board of directors.

Sishange was elected by the MDDA Board in line with Section (10)8 of the MDDA Act.

He takes over from the previous chairperson, Phelisa Nkomo, who has taken academic leave for the remaining months of her term. Her term ends in February.

Sishange has been a member of the MDDA board since 2015, chairing and participating in a number of MDDA board committees. He is an advocate currently involved in media and employment law.

The MDDA was established to promote media development and diversity by providing support primarily to community and small commercial media projects, and encourage ownership and control of, and access to, media by historically disadvantaged communities, as well as by historically diminished indigenous language and cultural groups. - SAnews.gov.za
