Sections of the Traditional Health Practitioners Act commence

Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma has determined 1 May 2014 as the date on which several sections of the Traditional Health Practitioners Act shall come to operation.

The provisions that are being brought into operation seek, amongst others, to establish the Interim Traditional Health Practitioners Council of South Africa and to provide a regulatory framework so as to ensure the efficacy, safety and quality of traditional care services.

The President has determined the date in terms of section 52 of the Traditional Health Practitioners Act, 2007. – SAnews.gov.za
