Pretoria - The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has recalled its members who were put on special leave after the members' illegal protest at the Union Buildings in 2009.

SANDF had issued letters which serve as an official instruction for the members to report back to their home units.

"On the same token the SANDF appreciates the co-operation that has been received from members on Special Leave during the process.

"Members who could not be reached due to change of address or any other administrative matter are encouraged to contact their units," said Lieutenant Colonel Th,rSse Bester acting Senior Staff Officer Media Liaison in a statement.

Bester said this will assist in finalising all necessary arrangement in order to conclude the matter.

"The SANDF would like to emphasise that members of the SANDF volunteered as individuals to be enlisted to serve in the SANDF and to be subject to Military Disciplinary Code, which governs the conduct and behaviour of SANDF members."
