The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Dr Mimmy Gondwe, is to lead a South African Post-School Education and Training (PSET) sector delegation to the Education World Forum (EWF) 2025 taking place in London.

“The Education World Forum offers a valuable platform for collaboration among global education leaders. By sharing innovative practices and insights, we can strengthen our higher education system, equipping youth with essential skills to drive economic growth and reduce unemployment,” the Deputy Minister said on Sunday.

EWF 2025 is the world’s largest annual gathering of education leaders and ministers. Gondwe is scheduled to participate in the event from 18 to 21 May 2025.

The Deputy Minister will champion South Africa’s commitment to equitable access and quality education for all by taking part in key discussions and engagements, at the EWF, relating to themes such as girls' education, preventing gender-based violence, fostering public-private partnerships to drive innovation in education, and promoting vocational education and skills development as pathways for youth employment and economic growth.

“Deputy Minister Gondwe has expressed hope and excitement that the insights gained at EWF 2025 will help provide solutions and guidance for some challenges facing the local higher education sector,” the Ministry of Higher Education and Training said. -SAnews.gov.za
