SA to host high profile football courses

Monday, April 11, 2011

Pretoria - The World Football Governing body, FIFA, has selected South Africa as the venue to host three high-profile training courses.

French speaking delegates will be trained on the Transfer Matching System (TMS), which will be hosted in conjunction with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) starting on Monday, 11 April, with their English speaking counterparts joining the session on Wednesday and Thursday.

TMS is an online system that makes international player transfer quicker, smoother and also transparent.
It was started in February 2008 as a test phase in 18 countries and since then, has been implemented in all FIFA member associations.

Participants will be taught how to use the system as it is now a must for all member associations.

The second course is the FIFA Technical Directors' Seminar, which seeks to educate technical directors about various FIFA programmes available to member countries, and what is needed to have those programmes in their respective countries.

This course will be held at Southern Sun Hotel in Pretoria on Wednesday, starting at 9am and will end on Friday.

The Goalkeeper Instructors Course, the first of its kind in the country, will also be held at the same hotel in Pretoria, starting on 18 April until 20 April.

It seeks to teach goalkeeper instructors about new trends in goalkeeping so they can produce better goalkeepers. - BuaNews
