SA confirms Dalai Lama visa application

Pretoria - The South African High Commission in New Delhi, in India, has confirmed that it has received a visa application from the office of the Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama has made the application for a planned visit to South Africa, according to a statement by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation on Thursday. 

The department said the application will be taken through normal due process.

The relevant authorities will communicate with the applicant thereafter, it said. – SAnews.gov.za
