Malalane - The Ehlanzeni District Municipality in Mpumalanga's lowveld is launching a campaign to promote entrepreneurship among its residents.

The campaign will have a special focus on tourism opportunities presented by the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The launch will take place on Saturday at Driekoppies Stadium near Malalane.

"Ordinary people from Ehlanzeni are invited, and everybody else who has heard about it can come," said Margaret Chembeni-Sahi, member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Local Economic Development and Tourism.

She said the district municipality wanted its people to capitalise on all the World Cup opportunities, and through this campaign it could inform residents how to promote and market their tourism ventures.

"We want the people from Ehlanzeni to know what the business opportunities ahead of 2010 are, and we want to promote entrepreneurship among them.

"They must also look beyond 2010. The opportunities they get now must help them to prosper for years to come," said Chembeni-Sahi.

Executive Mayor Constance Mkhonto will be the guest speaker, while the Soul Brothers, DJ S'bali and many other artists from the district will entertain the crowd.
